![]() Our Story: Oakbrook Community Church began as an outreach ministry of the Evangelical Free Church of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in the late 1980’s. Originally located in Howards Grove, it was known as the Village Evangelical Free Church. While meeting through the early years in various school gymnasiums, the church had a vision to build, and therefore bought a property in Howards Grove. After some years, it became evident that God was moving the church in a different direction. The decision was made to sell the property to another church in Howards Grove area who desired to build a new facility. The finances from the sale of the land became the basis for a future chapter in the life of Oakbrook Community Church. While meeting in rental facilities in the northern Sheboygan area, the church purchased the building formerly occupied by Zion Christian Assembly on the south side of Sheboygan. After several renovations and the addition of a handicap ramp, the building was ready for occupancy. From meeting in gymnasiums and rental facilities all of its life, Oakbrook Community Church finally had a building to call home. Pastor Mario Ciotola began his association with Oakbrook by preaching on an occasional basis, which became more and more frequent after he and his family relocated to the Sheboygan area from Italy. He became our Pastor on a part-time basis, while also working full-time at one of our local factories. In July of 2007, Oakbrook Community Church called Mario to be its full-time Pastor. Oakbrook Community Church continues today as a committed body of believers seeking to live out Christ’s message of love, forgiveness, and joy. We invite you to fellowship with us and experience God’s presence in worship and authentic living.
